COUNTY COURT MEDIATOR CERTIFICATION TRAINING PROGRAM
The County Court Mediation Certification Training takes place over 3 full days, which include a
minimum of 20 hours of instructional time. The program is held over a weekend, providing less interruption in your regular
weekly schedule. We will meet each day from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Completion of the 20-hour training program satisfies the first step toward certification, described in the
training and in the Florida Rules for Certified and Court-Appointed Mediators. to obtain certification, you will be
required to participate in county court mediations as both an observer, and later, a co-mediator; after completion of the training program.
Over the course of the training weekend, you will have an opportunity to:
- enhance communications, negotiations and listening skills;
- develop familiarlity in county court issues and processes;
- gain an understanding of the stages and components of mediation;
- increase your awareness rleated to diversity;
- increase your knowledge of conflict resolution concepts and techniques, applicable in both personal and professional surroundings.

You will receive a set of course materials, a County Mediator's Manual, the applicable Florida Statutes, Rules of Civil Procedure and
Rules for Certified and Court-Appointed Mediators. Continental breakfasts and afternoon refreshments are included daily, with
a box lunch on the final day. This dynamic program is highly interactive, and will provide you the
opportunity to participate in the role-plays to further develop your skills and confidence level
as a future mediator!
