Toby Isaacson

Stetson University College of Law


Toby Isaacson, a solo practitioner in Florida since 1990, devotes 100% of her professional time to the practice of Alternative Dispute Resolution, including Mediation, Arbitration, Education, and Dispute Resolution Consultation. In addition to her law degree, Ms. Isaacson holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration / Human Resource Management, with concentration in Labor Relations. She has several years of experience in the resolution of conflicts in employee/labor relations matters, including contract negotiations, grievances, arbitrations, EEO compliance, and progressive disciplinary programs; as well as resolution experience in general business, debt, neighborhood, and other relationship matters.

Ms. Isaacson's credentials as a Neutral include the following: She is a Federal Court Mediator, a Certified Circuit Civil and County Court Mediator, and a certificated Court-Approved Arbitrator. She is a Primary Trainer for Florida Supreme Court Certified County Mediation programs, as well as Assistant Trainer for Circuit Civil Mediation programs. She is ADA Mediation Qualified, EEOC Mediation Qualified, and USPS Mediation Qualified. She is Certificated in Advanced Transformative Mediation Skills, in Negotiating & Mediating Employment Disputes, in the Cornell/Alliance Employment Arbitrator Training Program, and in the Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service Labor Arbitrator Program. She is licensed by the Florida Supreme Court and the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida. Her memberships include The American Bar Association -Dispute Resolution, Labor & Employment, and International Law Sections, The Florida Bar -ADR and Labor & Employment Law Sections; The Florida Academy of Professional Mediators; the Industrial Relations Research Association; and the Association for Conflict Resolution.

As an educator, Ms. Isaacson serves as adjunct faculty at Stetson College of Law, where she teaches Alternative Dispute Resolution and a Certified County Court Mediator Clinic to qualified students. She is approved by the Florida Supreme Court as a Trainer for this program, which she periodically provides as well to area community, professionals, agencies, or by organizational request. Ms. Isaacson is also a professional seminar leader and trainer whose audiences have included labor, management, government employees, students, business associations, religious and community organizations. She travels extensively to provide training in Labor and Employment topics including Title VII (ADA, ADEA, EEO) discrimination issues, FMLA matters, Workers= Compensation, employment, discharge, and disciplinary processes, and effective conflict resolution in the workplace and community.

Previously, Ms. Isaacson's work included an appellate practice and federal bankruptcy practice. Prior to opening her independent practice, Ms. Isaacson was Staff Attorney to The Honorable Jack R. Schoonover at The State of Florida Second District Court of Appeals.
